Report: Northern Illinois transfer safety Santana Banner commits to Mizzou

Banner reportedly joins the Mizzou program with three years of eligibility remaining.

Redshirt freshman safety Santana Banner is committing to Mizzou after spending two years with Northern Illinois, according to reports from 247 Sports and Rivals.

With the Tigers set to lose three safeties to graduation, Corey Batoon needed to supplement the positions depth with some plug-and-play help. Banner, who had a banner second season with the Huskies, will be an immediate contender for playing time in Mizzou’s secondary.

In his second season at Northern Illinois, Banner logged 54 total tackles, two for a loss, with an interception, three defended passes and a forced fumble to his name.
