PIGGY PIGGY! BABE IN THE CITY!
♫ You know I stay fresh to death ♫
We’re not on Black Friday this year, so will Mizzou stick with the all black uniforms? Hard to say since WE DON’T HAVE ANYMORE UNIFORM POSTS!!!!!!!

- The two largest winning margins in this rivalry’s history have both come in the past six years: 38-0 under Barry Odom in 2018 and last year’s 48-14 drubbing under Drinkwitz.
- In a move that I’m sure will upset no one, when you Google “weird facts about the University of Arkansas” the fourth thing to come up is the prominence of Bill and Hillary Clinton in the school’s history. Sure. OK!
- Thinking about calling Ar-kansas “Ar-kansas”? DON’T. IT’S ILLEGAL TO MISPRONOUNCE THE NAME OF THE STATE. SOUNDS LIKE BIG GUB’MENT INTERFERIN’ WITH MAH RIGHTS!!!!
- This week in “Notable Alumni from…” I’m choosing to highlight Ben Rector, a musician I came to love during any one of his many shows in Columbia over the years. He may be a hog, but he makes some feel-good tunes!

I’m traveling this Thanksgiving. So let’s not complicate things. I didn’t bring my to-go bar, but I can hit up my nearest liquor store and grab myself a few beers. I’m going to heat up some leftovers and grab my go-to Thanksgiving beer, which just so happens to be the best beer ever created: Boulevard Brewing’s Tank 7.
One bottle Tank 7, one chilled glass
Chill Tank 7. Pour into chilled glass.

You’re welcome. Enjoy those leftovers. And happy tanks-giving!

Can’t believe I’m saying it, but we’ve reached the end of the college football (regular) season. If you had to sum up the season (Mizzou and beyond) in one word, it would be…
Josh Matejka, Deputy Site Manager: Excellent! We can quibble about how Mizzou factors into that, but I’d say it’s been one of the more entertaining college football seasons in years. Weekly upsets, lots of turnover in the CFP rankings… the only thing that would make it that much better would be the guarantee that we’d see Mizzou playing for the big prize at the end.
Sammy Stava, Staff Writer: Incredible. With the expanded playoff and conference realignment, each Saturday felt big in the SEC. Almost all of the triple-headers on ABC at 11:00, 2:30, and 6:30 were must-watch with every game having playoff implications down the stretch.
Chad Moller: I’ll be the old guy/wet blanket and say that it’s been a great season nationally, but nothing remarkably different than what we get every single year with college football. It’s already the greatest sport there is. I’ve come around on the playoff concept and do like how it gives more fan bases reason for hope longer into the season than the old four-team playoff did. But I don’t feel that the play is any better than what it was, I don’t think the games have been any more amazing than they used to be. College football is all great, all the time, no matter how many teams get into the playoff. I’m sad it’s winding down, because that means it’s time for the winter depression to hit.
Mizzou looked pretty convincing in its 39-20 win over Mississippi State last weekend. Do we need to take the opponent into consideration, or is Mizzou finally finding its best self at the end of the year?
Josh Matejka: Somewhat unfortunately, I think it’s the latter. Brady Cook finally looks healthy, he’s re-established his connection with Luther Burden, the offensive line is gelling and the defense continues to play well. For whatever reason it took the Tigers the better part of the season to truly get into the swing of things, but here they are.
Sammy Stava: Sure, the opponent has something to do with it as beating Mississippi State doesn’t exactly mean much, but hey, it was on the road. Even in the loss to South Carolina, Missouri played well on offense. Things are clicking at the end of the season for Mizzou, just too little too late for a playoff run.
Chad Moller: The cop-out answer is a little bit of both, but that’s also the correct perspective. Yes, State is no good within the realm of the SEC, but I submit that they are talented enough to be competitive in the Big 12, the ACC and the Big Ten. I sure don’t think they’d be winless in any of those leagues. Non-SEC people get so triggered when you try to explain how this league is so much harder on a week-to-week basis, but it’s grounded in truth. It’s a different animal, and you wouldn’t see teams like BYU, Arizona State, Penn State, Miami, Fla. and the like with the records they currently have if they were in this conference. Anyway, back to Mizzou, it does seem like the offense is finding a bit of a groove so that’s encouraging. We just need the defense to stop giving up chunk plays, buckle down in the red zone, and play some complementary football.
Arkansas brought Bobby Petrino back from the memory of motorcycle accidents past in an effort to boost their offense and save Sam Pittman’s job. And so far… they’ve been fine! A pretty typical Arkansas season if you ask me. How much do the hogs worry you headed into Battle Line?
Josh Matejka: I learned a while ago that these games tend to be stressful regardless of the level of difference between the two teams. Rarely does one absolutely pummel the other (though when it does happen, it’s almost always Mizzou throttling the Razorbacks), so I expect a close game no matter what. That being said, I’d be ready for a chance if I was an Arky fan. Sam Pittman seems to have met his ceiling in Fayetteville, and not even Petrino’s return has injected enough juice to get Arkansas above middling. A win over Missouri would be a nice bow on the season and might be enough to save Pittman’s job. But is that the right call?
Sammy Stava: Arkansas can put up some points on the board and they have shown signs they can be a dangerous team. I mean, the Razorbacks did beat Tennessee earlier in the season. They have the talent, and Mizzou will need to play well in this game to win. However, Arkansas has already clinched bowl eligibility, and they don’t have a ton to play for in this game. It’s Senior Day at Faurot and I have confidence Mizzou gets this done at home. I’d be a little more worried if this game was in Fayetteville, though.
Chad Moller: I think this game means more to Arkansas than they would readily admit, so they’ll be hyped up for Saturday. They’re tired of hearing how Mizzou has owned the series since joining the SEC. I think there’s really not that much difference in the talent level of both rosters, so Saturday will come down to who makes the most big plays, and who makes the fewest critical mistakes.
PICK ‘EM! Missouri is the betting favorite, mostly due to their home field advantage, but we know these games tend to be tight. Can Missouri pick up win No. 9 and angle for one of the top non-CFP bowls?
Josh Matejka: As I mentioned earlier, I think the Tigers are hitting their stride, a perfect time to do so if you really care about the Battle Line rivalry. We know Drinkwitz does, and he’ll have his team ready to go. Give me the Tigers and the points.
Sammy Stava: After losing at South Carolina, Eli Drinkwitz and the boys will be motivated to win this trophy game. There’s still plenty on the line for this Mizzou team down the stretch. Just like on Homecoming against Auburn, QB1 Brady Cook will lead Mizzou to a win on Senior Day. Tigers get it done 35-24 with a late score to put it away.
Chad Moller: Call me a romantic, but I just don’t see how Brady Cook could possibly lose his last game on Faurot Field. Mizzou means to much to him, and vice-versa. The team cast aside any worries about not being motivated anymore last week at Mississippi State, so I feel like they’re fully vested still in putting it all on the line one more time. The bowl game might be a little different, but we’ll cross that bridge later. For this one, I think it’ll be a great back-and-forth game, Mizzou makes just enough plays to send Brady and the seniors out with a win. I’ll take the Tigers, let’s say 31-28.
