The Tigers have won five games in a row for the first time since 2022.
It felt like Mizzou had, at the very least, sort of figured things out.
The Tigers had lost two of their first three games of the season to mid-major opponents in Vermont and Norfolk State, the first time they’d done that since they lost four of five to mid-majors in Nov. 2019.
The Tigers cleaned up their act, winning eight of their next nine games. They seemingly had a solid shot to make it nine of 10 against Lipscomb. Although the Bisons kept up in the first half, trailing by just one at the break, Mizzou pulled away over the final two frames to emerge victorious 78-57. The Tigers are now 10-3 and have won five consecutive games for the first time since Nov.-Dec. 2022.

Offensively, Mizzou received contributions from all over the place, as six players scored between nine and 16 points. Abbey Schreacke had 16 points, celebrating her 20th birthday with yet another solid scoring performance that featured eight in the final 2:30 of regulation. She now has five games with at least four made three-pointers this season.
Grace Slaughter scored 13 points, with nine of them coming in the third quarter. The other 13-point scorer? De’Myla Brown, who dropped eight in the third quarter, including a transition triple off of a big Laniah Randle block in the fourth quarter. It was her highest-scoring outing since Jan. 6, 2022, when she scored 13 points for Illinois.
Randle had 12 points of her own and was masterful on defense, recording four steals and a block. Ashton Judd scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Averi Kroenke registered nine points and tied Nyah Wilson for a team-high four assists.

Both teams started with hot hands, but it was Lipscomb who threw the first flurry of punches. The Bisons took an early 14-8 lead with four three-pointers in the first five minutes of action. They entered Sunday ranked No. 9 nationally in made three-pointers per game (10.4) and no. 4 in three-point attempts per game (32.4), and they continued to light up their opponent from beyond the arc right from the get-go.
However, Mizzou responded with an 8-0 run, which was spurred by the Tigers capitalizing on numerous transition opportunities.
The first half was back-and-forth the rest of the way, including a cold shooting spell that affected both teams. Mizzou and Lipscomb combined to shoot just 8/26 from the field and 1/11 from downtown in the second quarter, but the Tigers tightened up in the second half, ultimately out-shooting the Bisons en route to a win. After starting hot from beyond the arc, Lipscomb ended the game shooting just 2/13 from three-point range.
Mizzou will be back in action on Wednesday, as it’ll host Oral Roberts at 6:30 p.m.
