The star wide receiver announced his decision on Monday, ending his Mizzou career.
Luther Burden III will enter the 2025 NFL Draft, ending his Mizzou Football career after three seasons. The junior wide receiver announced his decision Monday on social media.
As part of the decision, Burden told ESPN that he will not play in Mizzou’s upcoming bowl game.
“While this decision is a step toward my professional future, it is by no means the end of my relationship with Mizzou,” Burden said in his statement. “I will always carry a piece of this university with me, and I will continue to represent Mizzou with pride as I pursue my dreams.”
Burden, a former five-star recruit, ends his time at Mizzou as one of the most electric playmakers in program history. In just three years, Burden scored a total of 26 touchdowns — 21 receiving, four rushing and one on a punt return — and is tied with J’Mon Moore for fifth in all-time receiving touchdowns. His 2,263 receiving yards rank sixth on the all-time list as a Tiger, and he totaled 2,739 total yards from scrimmage.
