The Morning Commute for Thursday, November 21

Welcome to the Morning Commute

Today we’re talking about Mizzou WBB and the latest injury report.

After a tough 1-2 start to the season in a critical year for Robin Pingeton, Mizzou Women’s Basketball has now won three in a row after a dominating 112-59win over in-state opponent SLU on Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena.

Abbey Schreacke led the team with 19 points, and the Tigers improved to 4-2 on the season against a Billikens team predicted to finish in the top half of the Atlantic 10. Dylan Heinrich notes that it’s the first time Mizzou has scored 100-plus points in a regular season game since 2013.

It will be a quick turnaround as the Tigers are back in action tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CST vs Little Rock.

And on the latest SEC Football Injury Report, quarterback Brady Cook and safety Tre’Vez Johnson have been listed as “probable” for Saturday at Mississippi State, but wide receiver Mookie Cooper remains out. Head on over to Rock M Plus to discuss.

“From here forward, the CFP is the only one that matters realistically, and even though Mizzou has no realistic path to the field of 12, it’s satisfying as a fan to know that the committee appreciates that the Tigers are a quality team.”

The Tigers are still respected as a Top 25 team by the CFP committee, which is nice to see.

“A 10th win in a bowl game would be a cherry on top and put this Tigers team in even rarer air in the pantheon of Mizzou football, but the season will be a good one regardless of the outcome of a second-tier bowl.”

A 10-win season would still be huge for this Mizzou Football program.

“The goal now is to get 9 wins with a chance of 10 after the bowl. It doesn’t matter how you get there, just get there.”

Just win, baby.

“Overall, Best Bets is still in plus territory at 22-16, but our overall record is back to .500 at 36-36-2. Just like the Tigers, we’re going to have to dust ourselves off and fight to end the season on a high note. Let’s get on to Week 13!”

Nathan previews the College Football Week 13 slate from a betting angle.

“And I just don’t trust the Bulldog defense much at all. There’s literally nothing they do well (that’s not an exaggeration), and Mizzou has too many play-makers to deal with. Tigers win 38-27.”

Andrew predicts Mizzou to win 38-27. Mississippi State will put some points on the board in this one, but the Bulldogs’ defense has been atrocious.

“Pingeton’s squad is now riding a three-game winning streak, sitting a game above .500 for the first time this year.”

A little bit of momentum for Mizzou WBB. Let’s see if they can keep it rolling.
