The Morning Commute for Thursday, December 5
Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about National Signing Day.
The Mizzou Football program had a successful National Signing Day on Wednesday for their 2025 recruiting class, highlighted by the future quarterback of the program in Matt Zollers and the top player in the state of Missouri, Jack Lange.

Eli Drinkwitz and the staff also made a big splash, landing four-star Javion Hilson (five star on Rivals) — who ranks as one of the best edge rushers in the entire country.

This means Javion Hilson is the highest ranked recruit not from Missouri or Illinois to sign with #Mizzou in the Rivals era. A pretty remarkable pull for Eli Drinkwitz and his staff. https://t.co/pVqUYTjmpQ

With the addition of Hilson, Mizzou’s 2025 class currently ranks 19th on 247Sports, 21st on Rivals, and 18th via On3.
This program is in good hands with Eli Drinkwitz as their head coach. He’s such an elite recruiter.

“If you love everything about commitments, decommitments, rumors, innuendos, hat tosses at signing ceremonies, and lots of palace intrigue, you’re in business because it all starts today with the first day of the early signing period.”
Everybody loves ‘crootin!
“Mizzou is chasing its second consecutive 10-win season with a bowl game on the horizon, but all attention at the moment is on how the Tigers will reload for another run at success in 2025.”
Plenty of updates here on National Signing Day.
“With snow piling all over Faurot Field this past Saturday, it was imperative that the Missouri Tigers have good play in the trenches. The Tigers got that and more from their offensive and defensive line, evidenced by the MVPs this week.”
The offensive line, and a three-peat for Johnny Walker Jr. were the analytics MVPs in the 28-21 win over Arkansas to cap off the regular season.
“Unless we completely tank Conference Championship Week this week, we’re gonna finish with a little more cash in our pockets than we started the year with. Let’s get to it!”
Nathan gets you ready for College Football’s Championship Week with a betting angle.
“As the staff looks to lock down the vast majority of the #ZouLive25 crew, Drinkwitz has been hard at work shoring up the class. And nothing adds a little depth and pop like a Top 50 recruit. Enter Javion Hilson.”
Eli Drinkwtiz keeps recruiting at a high level. You love to see it.
Tomorrow, #Mizzou Volleyball will take on Texas State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Here’s what you need to know about the Bobcats, and some fun facts you don’t really need but might enjoy:@RockMNation https://t.co/Wi9amEBgMw

“For the second straight season, Mizzou Volleyball has drawn an unfamiliar lower conference opponent in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will face the Texas State Bobcats on Thursday at 4 p.m. in Dallas.”
