Mizzou has landed the former highly touted wide receiver from the St. Louis area via the transfer portal.

With the departures of Luther Burden III, Theo Wease Jr., and Mekhi Miller – the wide receiver room has become a glaring position of need this offseason for the Missouri Tigers.

Eli Drinkwitz and the staff addressed that necessity with an addition via the transfer portal. That addition happens to be a former highly touted recruit from the St. Louis area.

Mississippi State transfer wide receiver Kevin Coleman has announced his commitment to Missouri.

Coleman, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022 was ranked as the top player in the state of Missouri and originally committed to Jackson State under Deion Sanders. He transferred to Louisville in 2023 and caught 26 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games played with the Cardinals.

Coleman had a breakout junior year this season with Mississippi State and appeared on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. In 12 games with the Bulldogs, he led the team 74 receptions for 932 yards and six touchdowns – which landed him on this year’s Third Team All-SEC. Coleman ranked fourth in the entire conference for receiving yards — behind Andrew Armstrong, Tre Harris, and KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

Per 247Sports, Coleman ranks as the 19th best player in the transfer portal and becomes Mizzou’s first transfer portal addition thus far.

Out of St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis, Coleman joins his former teammate Jamal Roberts on this current Mizzou roster.

Coleman will play against his former Mississippi State team on November 15th next season as the Bulldogs visit Columbia.
